Comprehensive Pain Medicine Ultrasound Workshop

Join us for n a dynamic learning experience with our Comprehensive Pain Medicine Ultrasound Workshop, designed for both beginners and seasoned pain physicians . This intensive 2-hour workshop offers a unique opportunity to acquire fundamental skills or enhance existing expertise in ultrasound-guided pain procedures and regional anesthesia.

Participants will engage in up to 2 hours of hands-on ultrasound scanning on live models, complemented by informative lectures aimed at identifying diverse sono-anatomy. By the workshop's conclusion, attendees can expect to gain extensive knowledge and confidence in utilizing ultrasound for various pain procedures.

Target Audience:This workshop caters to Pain Physicians, Regional Anesthesiologists, CRNAs, APPs, PM&R, Emergency Medicine Physicians, and any clinician involved in interventional pain or with an interest in regenerative medicine procedures, joint and soft tissue injections, or nerve blocks.

Learning Objectives:Upon completion of this activity, participants will be able to:

  • Describe and discuss the basic principles of ultrasound.
  • Identify normal sono-anatomy and aberrations.
  • Explain nerve blocks and procedures for various pain conditions.
  • Enhance the ability to detect critical structures, improving patient safety during pain procedures.
  • Demonstrate needle insertion techniques for ultrasound-guided nerve blocks, both in-plane and out-of-plane. (May use phantom)
  • Improve block success rates and patient satisfaction.
  • Perform nerve blocks, epidurals, and large joint imaging with ultrasound.

Accreditation: Maimonides Medical Center is accredited by the Medical Society of the State of New York to provide continuing medical education for physicians. This live course is eligible for a maximum of 6 AMA PRA Category 1 CreditsTM (2 Credits for the live portion and 4 Credits for the online portion).
